The Hierophant was written between February 24th - March 9th of 2019.

This card symbolizes structure, tradition and following established principals.

 

I composed this piece as an Invention - inspired by Bach's Inventions. Counterpoint sounds traditional and structured so I though it would fit the meaning of this card. It was difficult for me to stay with a traditional style. While composing this I had to prevent myself from straying into jazz and having the piece sound too modern.
