The Lovers

The Lovers was composed in January of 2018. The original composition is intended for a small jazz combo.

I tried to compose a piece that was upbeat and showed the lighthearted side of love. As I composed this piece I kept the image of a couple strolling down a tree lined street in my mind.

In August of 2018 I decided to take the main melody of the piece and arrange it for solo guitar. As I kept experimenting, I started playing the piece in a bossa style.
